Description: Each trail marker was installed by New Jersey Department of Parks and Recreation. The markers for the Perimeter (Green) Trail were installed in 2016. Each marker consists of a flexible, brown plastic pole on which various decals are attached. The decals show direction the trail takes, "color name" of the trail, and whether hiking and/or skiiing are permitted on that trail section. As more trails are created and marked the trail name color designations and the allowable uses on those trails may change as will the array of available decals.Subsequent to marker installation, volunteers from the Friends of Tall Pines State Preserve walked the trails, stopping at each marker collecting latitude, longitude, and elevation information via hand-help GPS units. Photos of each marker were also taken. Should markers require replacement a locational and photographic record will be available for reference.
